The oil light on my boat came on the other day (just bought it - used) and when I do a sharp turn it goes off. So i assume its just low on oil. I don't know what kind is in the boat right now... so I should probably dump it and put new oil in?

From reading other posts, it sounds a bit complicated to do that. I don't think there are any boat shops close by.

What should i do?

It's a 1998 Sportster 1800 - twin 85 HP rotax engines

Beaker out resivoir/s best you can, then put return line/s in bottle/container, then i'd blow air thru bottom hose of res, that will push most out in bottle, might have little mess, (simple green),... injection line hose/s, (one with filter), either unplug from res or pump, and let drain, then refill...don't think aliittle bit of mixing will hurt whether being mineral or synthetic...

thanks for the info.

Might sound like a simplistic question, but how much oil will I need? 700 cc engines, that would be 1400cc or 1.4L right?

Fill up resivoir/s, then watch it feed thru hoses, then add more. Assuming, at least 128oz, giving that theres 2 motors
