Am I screwed?
I went to change the oil & filter in my 2003 GTX-SC. Everything was going fine until I tried to remove the oil filter cap. I unscrewed the holding screw and noticed that the cap had 4 small fingers underneath with two of them missing. Naturally, they may have fallen into the engine in the center area of the filter. I guess the questions are: Where did those fingers go, are they in a harmless place and how easy are they to get out of the engine...
Apparently 'Ma SeaDoo changed the design of this oil filter cap. They removed the fingers on the modern cap. I don't know if this was a recall item, but it should be. I have pictures of the old oil filter cap.
Update: Could a code P1202 be related to this? I seem to be getting that now. Some say they believe its oil overfill... Help!
