Oil change

I was doing some research regarding Sea Doo oil changes, online. A couple of posts stated that after you get the oil out, after the initial pumping, you should put the throttle to full and start the engine for 10 seconds. This is supposed to NOT start the motor but get the remaining oil out of the sump. That scares the hell out of me! Any thoughts? Or, do you guys just leave the remaining oil in and add what came out?

I plan on changing the oil Friday afternoon, so any help would be appreciated!

You manually open the throttle body to wide open using the cable on the throttle body, then press and hold the starter button for 5-10 sec while keeping the tb wide open. It will not start the motor, just turn it over during this drown mode. If it makes you feel better you can remove the coil packs from the plugs so you really can't start the motor if you screw up!

You can reach the starter button with a broom handle or other long pole. Or a second person. You cannot do it from the helm because the f-n-r needs to be in neutral to activate drown mode, same as starting, and you cannot move the throttle lever while in neutral.

Interesting I was thinking of Amsoil, lots of people using it on the green hulk site with super results AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke® Marine Oil 10W-40 (WCF). The WCF is for the clutch in the super charger here is the service bulletin.

Thanks for all the advice. I changed my oil, spark plugs and installed a new battery. My RPM's increased WOT to 7500RPM from 7000RPM and my engine sync issue has subsided. Needless to say, I am quite happy with the results. One thing I found quite strange, my oil was changed at the beginning of the season and I have put on 25 hours since that time. The plugs looked quite good to the naked eye, but the oil was BLACK. I purchased the boat in May, so I don't know if the previous owner changed the oil every 50 hours, but I did not expect it to look like that...
