Good Morning. Thanks for having me on the forum. Have been reading lots of information and decided to join today. I am in the market for my first Seadoo boat. I have been searching the entire length of the east cost. I believe I have settled for a nice boat that's down in FL. No need for a big boat as its just my wife, son and wife so I have narrowed it down to a 150 speedster. I know to look for the supercharger being rebuilt with the upgraded washers with documentation. is there anything else I should be aware of. The boat I am seriously considering is provided in the link below. He facetimed with me yesterday to give a good detailed report of the boat, has 30 hours on the boat and supercharger washers were just replaced. It doesn't come with a cover so I will be in the market for one as well. My other question are these towers easily removed so I can store the boat in my garage? thanks again for all the wealth of knowledge on this forum.

The tower in the pic looks similar to my Challenger OEM Seadoo tower.
It appears to have the same black threaded knobs that allow the tower to come apart/ fold down to easily fit below a standard garage door header. Quicker and easier than complete removal. Happy Boating!

Thanks for the response. He said it was OEM but I forgot to ask him if its folds down easily. Just might have to drive down to FL to pick this puppy up. what do you think about his price? ive talked him down to $8500 just over the phone. my budget is $8k.

I second the point on the tower folding. My OEM tower on 2010 210 challenger comes apart with a few Allen head bolts & folds nicely to fit in my garage. A folding trailer neck is also a must have. With your budget I'd say go for it. I had a bit higher budget but same family size however it is import to us to be able take another family along for a day @ the lake so that's why the bigger challenger is nice. I think you will find that when it comes to boats the more the merrier is very true. Sharing the blessing out on the water is a great way to do life together so that would be my only suggested consideration. Looks like a nice ride for the money.

Besides the obvious cosmetics... If you can get under it, take a good look at the wear ring and impeller. I would strongly suggest a water test and gun it from a dead stop to check for cavitation which could be an indicator of required maintenance/repairs.

Look to see if it has been sitting on a charger or if the battery is strong enough to start it after storage.

If the supercharger can't be verified as updated, I would ask to pull the hose off and see if you can spin the turbine with your finger, if so, it's a sure sign it's blown the ceramic washers. But this would also be very apparent in a water test.

Would check all the little things; bilge, blower, listen to each speaker individually, etc.. none of these would be deal breakers for me but the last thing you want is a list a projects as soon as you buy it.

If you water test it check the coolant tank after running it good to make sure it's full and not discolored.

Trailer lights, bearings, winch, tires... little things that could have degraded in 10 years of Florida sunshine.

Open anything that could be hiding damage or be non functional: storage boxes, hatches etc

Open the bimini or any canvas or covers that it comes with to make sure they aren't damaged. Same of they hand you a folded floor carpet.

Check steering, throttle and shifter for binding cables/linkages.

...All little things I learned buying a boat from a scam artist! Hope they help

Couldn't agree more with everything you say. While I hate to overpay for anything bottom feeding on price is especially risky. Know what your buying and don't assume anything the seller says is true. Trust but verify lol

Now here's a primo low hr speedster for sale but not a fire sale boat. 12k but nearly flawless with fresh 127 supercharger and green giant bosch 42 injectors-new oem impeller and wear ring-upgraded bluetooth kenwood head unit with remote and speakers-new aluminum wheels and factory karavan full led lighting upgrade-perfect interior. Runs 60 gps with two adults

You may be able to do better?...
I find that same boat listed on EBAY, currently at $6,400 ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-SeaDoo...ash=item238bb7b8a0:g:UXYAAOSwe4ZZliVI&vxp=mtr

He never mentioned it being on ebay and my buddy told me about it. I was the high bidder at $6400. The morning that auction was supposed to end he canceled the auction. I haven't asked him over the phone why he canceled it or let him know I knew it was on ebay. I have spoke with him several times and he seems like a standup guy. He said that the supercharger wasn't rebuilt just the washers replaced with the new updated SS ones.

Thanks for all the information. I am mechanically inclined and a engineering mechanical inspector so I look at the details lol. the black portion does look faded from the FL sun but he said a good wax job and it will be back to a nice looking Black. When checking the wear ring and impeller what should I be looking for specifically besides the obvious? Thanks again.

While the impeller and wear ring are important, that supercharger with bearings and seals from 06-07 is a virtual time bomb. And by the way, im pretty certain replacement washers aren't stainless steel.

He specifically said he had seadoo replace the ceramic washers with the updated washers.

Did you know updated oem washers are not available seperate from the rebuild kit? Not calling bs exactly but you obviously have made your decision and I wish you the best.

no decision has been made as of yet but still interested. His Ebay ad says supercharger serviced spring of 2017 and updated with the new washers. Didn't specifically say that it was rebuilt. the boat only has 30 hours on it total.

If i were buying, I'd take no chances with the sc and have it rebuilt from a reputable source. They are only around $500 to do when you remove yourself and send to a shop that specializes in rebuilds. 2 years or 200hr is the interval, if he only replaced the washers, the bearings are dry and ready to pop at 10 years old. Factor it into the price, and ask for receipt from his washer replace...maybe they did the whole kit and he just doesn't know what he's talking about. Good luck
