Just replace engine ran fine. Now no spark in either plug one manual states possibly the ingnition coil but local repair shop states ingnition coil rarely goes bad. Most likely the stator. Anyone know the procedures for testing each component to determine which one is bad if any?

Thanks

I would check all the fuses first and go from there. You could have a bad ground in the new install...it wouldn't be the first time. Check all the wireing connections first and we'll go from there.

sorry should have stated I checked all wiring, ground, fuses, etc. Battery is in great condition. Lanyard provides all proper beeps. The only thing that was loose was the stud that you attached the positive cable to the starter. Did not know if this being lose possible shorted out ingnition coil. This was the second tank of gas during the break in period. Engined killed while running on lake. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response. Took the stator cover off and the pick up had broken off its bracket. Hope this helps someone else.

i just rebuilt my engine also. ran fine and turned it off then tried to start it up and no spark. what should i do or check out?

thanks
