Hi great forum, lots of info! About to purchase a 2002 Seadoo Sportster Lt with dual 717's on Saturday. Just wanted to say Hi! One question I have, and I have searched and cant come up with a solid answer- whats the fuel burn on the dual 717's as configured like what I'm purchasing? 14.5 ft boat twin 717's. I know of course the highest would be at WOT, but would like to know my range when full, driving like I have some sense (not WOT all the time). Can anyone answer this question with reasonable ease? My wife's fathers place is 17 miles form us across Tampa Bay, the water out there seldom reaches 2-3 feet so were considering trying to make the trek across if fuel allows.:drool5:

Dual 787's in my 98 speedster burn 24.4 gal/hr @ WOT and the dual 717's burn 17 gal/hr in a 98 sportster 1800/challenger (according to the manual).

So that's the worst case, so you should be able to make it with no issues. Just have your towing insurance in place and some hose clamps to pinch off the cooling line so you can be towed if need be.

Wow, can't believe the old two stroke hull would born twice much than my 08 four stroke Speedster by the full throttle, if I fill the tank in full, my boat could run about 4 hours at low 30 mph.

Keep in mind, WOT is 50+ MPH, so throttling back to 30 MPH saves quite a bit of fuel.
