Hello all, I have 2 2012 GTI SE 130's both have about 26 hours on them. Im in Az and the rubber on the boarding ladders are sticky and/or melting in the sun. Every time we touch them with our hand or step on and off of them the black rubber is sticky and gets on our hands or feet and then all over us and all over the skis making a frustrating mess.

Anybody else seen this and have any recommendations?

either take a razor/pad/elbow grease and remove the foam to get down to bare bar, or recover it. DIY or let someone else.

I believe you can purchase aftermarket replacement kits if you want to remove and reinstall the material, also there is a company where you send the bar to them and they recover it and send back, I found this from a 2011 thread.

These are the oem ladders not aftermarket ones and its thick hard rubber that is melting as you see in the pic not foam peeling off...not sure there is a lot I can do aside from replacing ladders completely only to have them melt again in a year or so?

I will call them tomorrow and inquire. Thanks.

I second aquaperformance. They redid the rubber sleeve on my ladder. Quick turn around time.
