I wasnt able to get out to work on her today, this Sailboat got beat up pretty bad and we are removing the engine so its long days this week, but I did get the other hose I needed as well as a antifreeze flush kit that will work PERFECTLY in place of the flush kit. only 6 bucks at pep boys

As for the seat cover its basically marine grade pleather from Joannes fabric, it will cost me about 16 dollars in material to redo the seat plus I dont know 50 cents for the staples. I cant sew so the handle bar pad cover ill buy, not sure I have ever heard of watercraft superstore... where are they?

as for the Spark arrestor, Minnetonka4me would it work better if we got up via phone or what have you for payment and shipping or is it easier for you to use ebay or some such auctioning tool? if need be I can shoot you a pm with my cell on it.

If you need a pad for that ski... give Kieth a buzz. He's a member on this board, and does great work.

I think he charges $25 or $30 for that cover. He can also sell you a cover for your seat and a grab strap.

FYI... he made the one for my Si project.

confirming that keith does good work and is a good guy, he did my challenger boat.

I did find the airbox but it has no hardware :(
also have a complete 587 engine collecting dust (probably seized, i dunno, never bothered to check), might be time to scrap it.

OP, you'll have no problems with tonka, i've bought MANY parts from him, and sold him some too !
he's good people.

Ok quick update: I worked hard on that sailboat and got the engine craned out early so I got to toy around on the seadoo a bit today, and here is what I learned.

Once I got the RV feed and vent hooked up today I did an inspect of whats in the tank and holy smokes.... the stuff in the tank has been sitting for a bit, its all hazmat now. so long story short I disconnected the line and hooked a small bottle of premix fuel to the line and the motor sounds like it is kicking over easier way way way smoother. the start switch is absolutely finicky and the safety switch seems to have been cut out of the system.... or at least is stuck in the on position.

Either way I ended up fouling the plugs by pouring fuel direct into the carb but in any case it sounds really really smooth now but the engine isnt getting fuel from the carb, likely its clogged or horribly adjusted so thats going to be the next step.

Also I did a pressure test on the cylinders and Im getting over 150 psi on each one I imagine thats got to be fairly close to where its supposed to be.

Any recommendations on an easy way to drain that tank... Im super lazy after spending the day working on other peoples watercraft. and then of course also the tubes that run down into the tank from the top... those aught to be longer than like two inches right?

Since you work on boats... I'm sure you have a bit of fuel line, and and old fuel pump sitting around somewhere. That would be the easiest way. (just suck it out)

150 is perfect for that engine.

The other reason the pugs may have fouled is because the center seals are known to leak when the engine sits. (or is old) SO... there may have been a load of oil sitting in the bottom of the crank before you tried to start it.

Its going to be hard to say until I get it running right what the issue is. Today I am going to get all the crap out of the tank and put some good fuel in. The other issue I am concerned about is the feed lines that go in through the top of the tank. They appear to be frayed and only a couple inches long. Whats the deal with that? arnt those supposed to go to the bottom of the tank?

Unfortunately I do not have an old fuel pump laying around We usually just wet vac crap up and put it into hazmat containers and the wet vac is in the bosses work van at his house, so I suppose ill need to pick one up today.

The other task is to pull the carb and go through it. I hooked a bottle to the inlet line and it all just drained into the carb within min so the jet or something has to be stuck. No biggie I need to check the jet specs anyway.

Ok Ive got the tank issue handled and the RV gear issue handled and I have moved on to work with the carb which I might mention wasnt even bolted down all the way....

The main appears to be a 142.5 and the smaller one I just cant tell I have 20/20 and its just too hard to read... its just such a tiny little jet.. Im going to put it all back in and give the ski a test if it still bogs out or floods then Ill know theres some work to be done on the jetting.
