Finally managed to sell my 08 RXT and buy a 99 SK. I've been looking for one for a while but most were either trashed or the priced in the stratosphere. Its a yellow 99 with the twin 720s. Unknown hrs bit compression tested good, although I can't remember the #s to save my life right now. Anyway, it has a new Sony Xplode sound system and yellow/black camo hydroturf mats. It is in almost flawless condition except a non working fuel gauge which is an easy fix from what I read. Came with an original cover that is in OK enough shape for garage storage which I plan on doing but will need replacing soon. Anything else I need to watch out for on this model specifically? From what I read the 720 is a pretty strong running motor.

Oh yea pics will soon follow. I will pick it up tomorrow evening.

Congrats on the BEST color Speedster EVER!! Yeah the twin 720 boat is a great boat. So is your cover the yellow one? Mine finally gave out in Hurricane Sandy. The fuel float is probably bad, easy fix Spimothy Leary had them for cheap shipped check in with him, looks like he has 4 left. Change the fuel filters, back by the sending unit and MPEM. Go thru the carbs and clean them. Regular maint stuff.

Post pics please, I'm interested in seeing the turf and how it looks in there! I think I'm finally caving in and retiring my OEM carpet kit. I love it but I just got it dirty( beach mud) and don't want to ruin the carpet cause it's perfect, rather switch to turf--I think.

No the cover is the grey one unfortunately. I will say that the turf looks and feels real good. He said it's been on for 2 seasons and it looks brand new. I personally wouldn't have gone with the camo pattern if I ordered it myself but I can live with it. Looks nice.

Took it out this Sunday. It ran great other than it's going to need some new wear rings. The impellers look good but the gap might be a little more than ideal. I saw a little cavitation out if the starboard engine more than the port side. No big deal to fix so overall I'm very happy with how it runs and handles even in heavy chop.

Nice looking boat you got there! Looks pretty much identical to mine which is a Speedster with the 787s. I'm digging that camo color actually, I put black mats on mine. Didn't even consider anything that wild but it goes with the yellow scheme well.

Nice man, I love it. I noticed you're missing the cap for the bow light, but that boat looks CLEAN!

Yes as soon as I went to plane out it flew over the bow and bounced off the top of my head before splashing in. No big deal since I wanted to replace it with an led one anyway.

Well done, that is a very nice boat congrats on finding one that came from a good home it looks fantastic! That model has the extra tall tow pole?

Yes it does. It has the regular retractable one and another extension for it that stows in the storage compartment above the engine bay. Very neat. I plan on taking up wake boarding next season so it'll get to see some good use.

So how does one accomplish the role of spotter on that model for towing tubes/ski's, does that port side bucket swivel and face aft? I'm loving that boat man, the design is really an eye catcher.

How nice is that!? Does this boat have the true waterline level swim platform or is it elevated a bit higher, I've never seen one of these in person but the looks and design are enough to give someone a new itch that needs to be scratched.

Seat swivels all the way around plus a starboard side "wide and mirror" or something like that. The rear swim platform is just above the water line so it's shouldn't be too bad.

The swim platform at rest is maybe 3" above the water level with a single step ladder below. We will just chill and float with our feet hanging in the water, the kids love to jump off the back of too. I'm telling you they hands down nailed this boat, I'll probably never sell mine. It' seats 5 but ideally it's a 4 seater, the bow seat is what we call the bouncy seat. I bounced an adult male out of it and wedged him between the consoles, LOL.

I love having a swim platform essentially right at the waterline like that, it makes every conceivable use of it easier and better from boarding after you're all worn out from skiing or in my case getting two heavy German Shepherds up on it for a rest. They like to jump in for 5 minutes and swim and stand / lay on the platform for 5 more and right back in they go.

This SK design is the bee's knee's, I want one.

Yep, It's the best color that's why I chose it.

You and Mr. K are winning at life here man, those are gorgeous boats!

LOL, I bought that boat before I was engaged, had a house or kids. I knew she was the right one, she cosigned for the boat. We bought it brand new in 99, I was 25 at the time. The only other NEW thing I had bought prior to that was my 96 XP. My wife and I love the boat.

I looked at a few "red" ones. More like faded to pink but yes in reality it was never really an option. It was more the lack of yellow on the market. I generally dislike yellow a lot except on this boat on a couple of skis. I will say that those listing are asking a bit more than what the guy asked for mine and I paid quite a bit less. I'm real happy with it and the fiancé absolutely loves it. I was looking for the 4 seat model with the HUGE storage compartment in the front. That 5th rear facing seat is a death trap if you're at speed and hit a wake or a swell you didn't see.
