New Dreaming Speedster Owner

Hello All,
I am a retired old guy living in Florida who loves projects. In the past have built hot rods and can wrench about anything. I have never had a boat but would love to find an old Speedster for cheap. I’m thinking about someone’s backyard planter that has been sitting for years. Would love a 2000’s model but beggars can’t be choosy. Any ideas on the best way to find my floating dream? Even without engines would work as my workbench is currently empty. Also, does anyone in Florida know of a boat graveyard/lot?
Thanks
Mike

What part of Florida are you in? I spend a lot of time in Ft Myers in the winter and have a lot connections for seadoos there and typically am buying and rebuilding/fixing year-round skis but do some boats as well. My advice is to buy fresh water if possible and newer the better but this isn't always easy to do in FL.

I’m in Ormond Beach, just north of Daytona. Good advice on the freshwater boat. I’ll expand my search to the north some.
