Thanks for the compliments ...It should get better for you as the weather get warmer.

No problem. Seeing that is making me rethink our home equity loan to make this place exactly how we want it and going back to Florida after all lol..

I'm hoping it gets better. Right now, the bugs are so bad, I can't even walk outside without getting swarmed by gnats :(. After about 5 minutes outside, there are literally hundreds around! I have a bunch of yard work I want to do and like to walk when it's nice like this- not happening any time soon lol..

Thanks man...hey no pics of your ride yet...put some in the gallary.

I think we are going out tomorrow. If we do, I will try to get some this time :). With all the bugs at the dock, we really don't want to stand there and take pics haha. I wanted to get some action shots too, just have to find a good location for my wife to take the pics from.

Hey- I forgot to ask, I noticed the oil is about 3/8-1/2" over the top "notch" on the dipstick. This was after running it for a while, pulling in and checking it. I don't know why it left the dealer like this :(. I don't have the tool to pull it from the dipstick tube yet, any other way you can think of to get a little bit of oil out of it? What does the oil filter setup look like, can I remove the filter/canister and pour some out?

Thanks again :).
Joe

Joe, be sure to check it in the water to be accurate. I find it sites the most level. I always check it that way. The filter on the 4-tec's are the same in all the models. If you pop the top of the oil filter, it is always empty and only the top pops off to remove the filter. Do you know what the dipstick pump look like. I'll include a picture of mine. It is the only way I know to remove oil. The preferred location is no higher than the top notch. Damn dealer should have checked that! It's not that high, but it should be bought up to the dealer attention with the other guage problem...I hear a free oil filter or something.

Thanks for the pic. This was checked in the water. I'll be sure to bring it to their attention. The coolant is low also- it is just below the "cold" mark after it warms up. Like I said earlier, this dealer is a joke when it comes to service (at least in my experience), but there really isn't anyone else around to buy from :(.

I guess dumping the filter out isn't happening. I do have a suction transfer pump here, but I don't know if I can adapt the line small enough to fit the dipstick tube. Hmm, I have a Mityvac also, maybe that will work better. If not, I guess I'll wait for the first oil change.

With my pump was a hard plastic tube that you could get from any hardware store. That might be the way to go.

But not that much fun....you have to go to work next day.:(

Not I :D. I work from home. Just stinks because business is slow to the point of worry lately- that's where the boat comes in- it's my getaway :D. Then I have to fill it up again :(. Hahaha.

I know what you mean about worry...season just ended for us and it never really got up to speed all season. Now it is slow time, and it will be really slow this year...guess I just go boating...

Went out, had a blast- forgot the camera lol. I'm not much of the picture taking type, so I never remember to bring it :(. It was a good day though, we were out for about 4 hours or so. A friend showed up in his 18' bayliner, so we got to hang out for a while too, so I'm glad we went.

A couple of other things I had noticed- do you know if they changed the prop/impeller from the 07 Sportster to my 08 Speedster? I was watching a review of the SCIC Sportster and they said 5000 rpm's was 26-27 mph and they got 4.x mpg. Mine, 5000 is 20-21mph and I get worse mileage than that.

Also, it appears that the lovely dealership I bought it from attempted to buff it out possibly to get the glue off from the plastic wrap and 1) swirled the crap out of the boat, so I'll have to go over it and do it right, 2) left compound on all the edges, so it has sun baked, dried up white compound all over which is going to be fun to get off and 3) still left glue all over the boat :(.

I'm very displeased with the overall care the dealer put into the PDI- oil overfilled, coolant underfilled, compass not working, the compound and glue all over it and the fact that I found the PDI check list not even touched in with the owners manual. I know most car dealers don't even bother with it either, but it would be nice if they at least checked it out thoroughly. I wish Sea Doo would do a follow up call to ask about our experience :).

Hey guys, here's my two cents worth on the 10 hour service. I bought what was supposed to be a supercharged speedster 150 and late found all I bought was a 155 with 215 stickers ... also, the place where I bought it went out of business. Seadoo's actually giving me a hard time about it too. Here's the service part though ... I paid 500 dollars to Hahm Motor Sports in Anaheim to do the 10 hour service. I paid so much (double other bids) because they have been around a while and promised to inspect the entire engine AND SUPERCHARGER to ensure it is bolted in properly. At 20 hours I took it back and begged them to look closer, it only goes 45mph I complained. Turns out, like I said, no supercharger ... so, pending civil cases aside, I think the 10 hour service is nothing more than an over priced oil / plug change.

Good luck!
