okay finally looked at a schem for my jet pump. the imp housing will move until it it held back by something directly behind it (the impeller shaft is still in) if i pull harder it is pulling the (inner output drive shaft??) out of the engine i can see the spline, schematics do not show a retainer clip. do you have to remove the impeller shaft as it seems that it is seperate from output drive shaft. this shaft if rectangle square at the end, maybe for a reverse thread? The output drive shaft has a collar that does not move and will not pass thru the hull bushing. (I wonder if this was the cause of the water in my hull as well) I hope i am explaining this correctly and just cant figure it out.

fooled again

Ok i may have been a bit hasty......but i finally found the c clip under the carbon ring bushing and voila the entire assembly came out. DUHHHHH now i sit with housing, shafts and impeller in hand..next????
the shaft and impeller half way slide out of the housing and now i guess i have to vice the shaft and torque off the impeller shaft???? i am obviously learning this the hard way, maybe i should of bought a manual?

ok, the impeller shaft is stuck in the impeller. fight the rubber piece off the front of the impeller. you will probably kill it, but it is less than 10 bucks at the dealer. now buy a can of PB Blaster. best freeing oil there ever was. spray it into the joint of shaft and impeller. start wiggling it around and let it soak and wiggle it some more. after a while of loosening, put a pair of vise grips on the shaft (NOT where the seal goes!) and tap on the vise grips with a hammer. shaft will probly come out.

Loctite?......

The impeller is held on by loctite. The manual says to use a torch of some type, heat the center up to 300 degrees and break that bond.

I bought a propane torch from Walmart and once lit, put the tip of the blue flame at the center of the impeller, through the shafted spline area. When I put my impeller removal tool on it, it broke free with little or no pressuer..........

Good luck!...........
