new intake grate install

hey guys, looking to buy a new intake grate from riva and was wondering how easy it would be to install at home. or should i just take it to my shop?

Real easy to do. I just took mine off and am waiting for the new one to come in. 1 bolt in the front and 3 bolts in the rear...piece of cake.

There better grates then riva. what do you want more top speed or better hook up in chop? If you want top speed check out the R&D grate. for a little more speed over stock and better hook up look at the WORX grate.

I have a 90 sp with no intake grate(got it this way) My question is what years are all the same, I would like to jsut purchase any cheap one on ebay but dont know hat years are all the same. Thanks.

im looking more for top speed. but yeah my buddy ran over a ski rope and sucked the handle into the grate and snapped the wing tip thing off:redface:. thanks alot for the replies.

oh one more thing. whats the difference between the r&d aquavein intake grate and the r&d PRO 2 AQUAVEIN & GIRDLE KIT ?

Just it comes with a girdle kit. Girdle kit locks the grate on so the force at high speed doesnt rip it off. If your going to be modding you should install the kit forsure if your leaving it stock its not to big a deal.
