Hi, Im new here and just bought my first PWC. I picked up 2 1990 SeaDoo PWCs I dont know the model numbers or the engine size. Can anyone tell me if there is an ID somewhere that will tell me, or if there is a code on the motor or HIN that says it.

Also, just to show how new I am... What kind of oil do I have to put in these? I know they are 2 stroke but thats it. Both oil tanks are full but I dont know how long it will last.

I also just submerged one and am having trouble starting it now. I posted a thread under troubleshooting as well if anyone can help. thread is HELP! I SUNK MY PWC. I think the selinoid may have went bad.. Anyone know what the specs are or how to test. Both Skis have different selenoids so I dont know what is factory to replace it properly.

Thanks

Ray

You need to get a manual and then get it started and burn any water out of
the case before you get rust on the crank bearings. READ the manual. Or get
it quickly to a shop.

Put some injection oil in the cyl,
and some down the carb. Put plug wires on the ground posts. turn it sum more by
hand. DO last post.

I would get it fired up as quickly as possible so as not to lead to rust and corrosion and possible engine seizure. Remove the spark plugs and leave the caps on the grounding post. Turn the engine over to remove the water from the cylinders. Spray a little wd-40 in the cylinders to help displace the water. Hit the starter for a few seconds at a time letting it cool down abit while trying to get the water out. When it seems like all the water is out insert the spark plugs and get it started. Use the choke or a little fuel and injector oil as a premix to help fire it up. Don't use starting fluid. If it doesn't fire up repeat the procedure. Pull the spark plugs, hit the starter, insert spark plugs get it to fire up. Time is of the essence. the longer it takes to get it fired up the more chance of damage to the internal engine components.

Keep us posted on your progress.

I was able to get the engine to turn over a few times and fire up once. I pretty sure I got all the water out. Then I tried to start it again right after and all I get is a clicking of the starter selinoid. No starter engage. Is it possible that I fried the started from the water, trying to turn it over too much? Not sure if these are sealed units. I checked all electrical connections and fuses that I see and sprayed down with electrical cleaner to disapate any water. got the starter to engage once but back to clicking again. Battery is new n charged.

ANy suggestions?

Also anyone know the proceedure to pull the engine so I can check the starter? I ordered a manual but wont have it til firday and wanted to eliminate some down time.

thanks for the help
