New carbon seal

LOOKING AT diagram #2 is there any known issues with the carbon seals on those shafts?
I've had the shaft all seals bearings replaced ( from diagram #1)
Got at most 3 1/2 hours ride out of the new parts and sadly to the carbon seal gave out again nearly causing sinkage.
When I say known issues I'm looking for maybe different type of material ( metal wise hard, soft whatever).
Mechanic suggested checking clamps ( nice and tight) says the sir clip had came off
Also it feels as if there is some sort of slippage when I give it the slightest bit of throttle ( like a car transmission slipping)

The shaft has slid back a bit and is slipping when you give it throttle. I'm guessing that the rubber bumper has failed allowing the shaft to slide back. The carbon seal should be nice and square, not rounder or tapered like yours is. Something is not right for sure.

Yes shucky, I read your report of engine failure, it's a sad one I feel sorry for you b/c I feel this shouldn't happen but it's possible according to Murphy's 3rd rule of boating. Mostly in the case of the thrust bearing failing I assume the impeller was improperly torqued onto the pump impeller shaft or some kind of pump failure occurred that caused the force of thrust normally taken by the pump thrust bearing is transferred up through the drive shaft into the engine crankshaft, forcing it forward and causing engine bearing damage.

My suspicion is your pump failure is closely related to or the cause of engine failure.

Thanks for the info
Though the pump has recently been rebuilt.
I know about Murphy's law and once I see Murphy, he's getting a chop in the neck. :)
I can't complain really the engine had over a 1k hours ( ex rental) I knew it was coming,
As I've just recently came into good funds, I'm looking at getting a new ( 0 hours) and reconditioned thus said also having all major parts ( pumps, bearings and so on) checked out.
I got the ski cheap enough A-1 hull and I own it basically.
