new AFTERMARKET mpem with a switch

Hi folks i hope you guys can help again
I JUST RECEIVED AN AFTERMARKET MPEM I BOUGHT FROM A DEALER IN NJ.
THIS MPEM IS MADE BY REITRON AND IS PART # CODIGO:9000 OR THE DEALERS # 004-220 AND IS SUPPOSED TO REPLACE 278000262 AND 278000070
MY QUESTION IS THIS: THERE IS A WHITE PUSH BUTTON SWITCH ON IT AND A RED LED LIGHT AND ALSO A LIITLE SILVER BUTTON LOOKING THING.THE WIRES ALL SEEM TO MATCH MY ORIGINAL AND THE THING IS PHYSICALLY THE RIGHT SIZE.
WHAT IS THE RED LIGHT,SWITCH AND LITTLE SILVER THING FOR?? HELP

I haven't seen one but would guess its a breaker instead of a fuse. the light may be there to show a tripped circuit.

Would or could that switch be for adjusting the rpm limiter..am real horny to try this thing tonight after waiting quite awhile

i got it from atlantic jet sports in NJ they got it from WSM performance parts in AZ. who in turn got it from rreitron.com.br and i think the later is the manufactuer but i'm not sure

Lights & switches...

Hey Rick,

That's cool that it comes with a light and buttons. I'm going to agree with others here that at least one button is probably a reset. You didn't get any instructions or wiring diagrams w/ it did ya? I ordered one for my bro's machine so we'll see what it looks like. It's a aftermarket but I don't know who makes it and I don't know if it has switches, etc.

If you get a chance, could you post a pict of it? That is unless you're already in the water...know what you mean about wanting to get riding! As long as the wires are the same, I'd give it a go and put 'er in.

okay so here are the pics.
the one with the white button is the new one and the suppier told me that was the switch to program the rev limiter anywhere from6800 to 9800 rpm's they haven't provided me with a copy of the programing instructions yet.. i got it from the aforementioned dealer in NJ. for $163 USD.

put the new mpem in the boat and fired it right up and away we went>> now i got put the rest of the boat back together and get her in the water

Jim, the factory sent the 004-220-01 in place of the 004-220 the difference is the rev limiter, it has it on his box, just disregard, use same as 004-220
