Hi Guys I just picked up a 2001 seadoo LRV 4 seater. It is in great shape as far as I can tell, approx 120 Hrs. The guy I bought it from did tell me the speedo does not work. I am a boat owner and am familiar with how those speedo pick ups can get clogged at the inlet hole. I am not familiar with the pick up on this PWC. Any help or suggestions?

Also, any advise on what to really keep an eye on on the LRV as it relates to problems or regular maintenence??

Thanks

Congratlations and welcome to the forum. LRV's are a fairly rare breed....I have only ever seen one! I am not framiliar with them at all but I am sure someone around the forum will be able to help you out!

Welcome....

Welcome to the forum. DCKD is right. We have only had a couple members sign up who have the LRV. I think it's a cool model. It is actually the only Seadoo that is closest to having a PWC and a Jet boat at the same time.

Your speedo is nothing like the water pressure type used in the standard outboard set up. The Seadoo's use a paddle wheel which generates a small current by spinning while underway. The current is translated to speed at the gage. You can see this by following this link. It's parts number 63-67. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/seadooforums/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=90&B=20

Again, welcome to the forum and for all those who have never spotted the LRV on the water or seen one up front, I've attached a pix of the 2001 model....

Yeah they are pretty nice I have never seen on but I can't imagine getting that thing going with only a 130.
