I looked on this site and it says "obsolete" for the 1995 Sportster gas tank. Our mechanic took off all the hoses and reconnected everything and after 48 hours, there is still a gas leak. He says he is 99% sure there is a crack somewhere in the tank.

What can we do? This is very depressing that someone sold us a boat with a cracked gas tank. When we bought it, it had less than a half full gas tank so we had no idea that it had this issue.

I think you can repair those tanks or a company can, but someone should be parting one out that has a good tank might take soemtime to find. It is not a popular item so you should be able to get it with someone junking a boat post add on this sit. You can pull the tank and fill with water to see where the leak is to know for sure.

I was hoping not to put in a used tank that may have the same problem... I think Seadoo plastic tanks were largely defective in the years 1994-1997... for their boats and skis. What about after market gas tanks?
