need stereo help

any stereo experts out there?

The stereo in my SUV (brand name monsoon) holds 6 CDs. It works fine on AM or FM but when CD is selected it displays CD 4 Track 3 but does not play and is non-responsive to any CD control button. Cant select cd, track, FF, eject, load, etc. it's just stuck on that display and does nothing. there is a tiny hole on the face of the stereo that the manual shows as a reset button but I stick a paper clip in there and it does not depress, it actually seems to be solid (not really a button). Rather that digging up under the dash for the connection, I was going to try disconnecting the battery a few minutes and see if that did anything to reset it.
Any suggestions appreciated:cheers:

whats it in and the model, power it down , by unhooking battery cables, then touch both cables together for about 15 seconds, this is a capacitor disharge, then hook back up, if still doesnt work, hold eject button in for 10 seconds

also, sometimes it woulnt read homemade cds, load up 6 good ones, no contra dance stuff

then check compression and post

you da man Griz. Disconnected the battery, discharged the flux capacitor and the cd is now working fine.

I only listen to the contra dance music in the house, too dangerous to do while driving!

Radio compression seems a little low but I think I can counter that by turning up the volume.

Hey Jake,

What's a CD, is that the round silver thing that kinda looks like a record?

Besides checking the compression, you should also check your infraction, Ma said you were never real good with math.

yea, I gots some cd's that is 78's and some that is 45's. If ya play the contra dancin ones backwards they says "SDB is the king of the contras"

Ma's been working with me on my gozintas cause she says I is losin too much money makin the wrong change fer folks on my paper route.

Maybe that's your problem you've been tryn to play 78's and your CD player only plays 45's. If that's the problem just cut the slot so a 78 will fit.

ole griz had this in a slide mount 8 track, mounted under dash in a 1970 rebel machine, -- first car - red - white = blue - that would be worth alot now

Hey Griz,
