Need lanyard for '93 SPX.

Greetings SeaDoo'ers! Maybe somebody can help out a newbie here. Did some trading a couple months ago and got my hands on a '93 SPX which I have fallen in love with. My husband had never ridden a PWC of any type before and my only chance was riding my uncle's Wave Runner around as a kid on vacation at his house in Texas back when Wave Runners first came out. I was in love and always said I'd have one some day.

Hubby is now in love with the Doo and says it's just a matter of time before we get our hands on a second one... that whole waiting to ride thing gets old quick.

Now here comes my problem. The Doo came with a used aftermarket lanyard that clips to your ski vest. Well, neither of us have a D-ring on our vests so I took some elastic string and tied a loop onto them to allow easier clipping on and off of the lanyard. Personally I prefer the wrist band style.. I KNOW it's there, but didn't have one yet. Hubby was doing some impromptu tricks (ie. lost control and shot himself straight up in the air after getting into a powerslide on his own wake) and ended up losing the lanyard.

We feverishly searched and found another aftermarket one made by Jet Logic. Love the wrist band, hated the button cover... kept popping off. After fighting with it in the middle of a rather busy and somewhat choppy lake I got back to the dock. We tried to shrink it to make it stay on better, didn't work and hubby accidentally melted part of the rubber cap. The other one we had wasn't as rubbery and stayed on much better (just didn't stay on hubby's vest all that well).

First off, is there a GOOD after market lanyard for these older model Sea Doos or should I bite the bullet and spend the $30 or so bucks for an OEM model. If there is a good one, does anybody know of a place that doesn't charge as much for shipping as they do for the lanyard itself?

***Please feel free to move this if it's in the wrong forum... but since there may be someone here selling them, I thought this would be the place to ask.

Your post is in the right spot... I personally would just go get a OEM replacement one, and be done with it. The season is gonna end soon and it is better to be having fun than waiting for a poorly fitting lanyard. Trust me the OEM one will save you a ton of head acks. Try the local seadoo dealer and Cash & Carry it, or our "parts" link; http://www.seadoowarehouse.com/
