Hey Guys, I have a 95 Sportster I have pulled the engine out to rebuild the top , paint the engine and wanted to clean out the bilge. Now that I have finished, I want to start my engine on the bench. Can some one tell me what this requires in order to do this. Thanks Guys !

Too much trouble I'm afraid. If the starter is installed you can put 12v to it and perform a compression test. Your looking for 150psi per cylinder.

Yep, pretty tough to do without a mockup ignition system. Although I agree, normally I bench run a 4-stroke I/O boat engine 30 minutes at 3000 RPM before installing it, but not a 2-stroke.

Thanks for info, I guess I follow Matts advise and just check out her compression and put her back where I got her from.
Thanks again.
Sam
