Hey everyone,

I was working on my 1994 SPX today and found a tube that on one end goes to the side of the ski to an outlet and the other end goes to nothing. It came off something but I dont know what. I'm thinking either the oil reservoir or the carb somewhere. Any help figuring out where it goes would be great. Someone that has this ski should know right away by just following the tube. I attached some pictures of where exactly it is to make it easier to figure out. The pictures are looking through the storage compartment hole in the front by the gas tank. Thanks in advance.

...yeah I still have the grey fuel lines. I am looking to replace them in the near future once I get past my fear of the carburetor. Is there supposed to be a cover over the battery? Mine does not have one as I bought it used and have never seen it. Does the battery have to be covered and vented even if it is a sealed battery?

Man, I look at your pictures and think to myself how easy it will be for you to do what I just spent two days doing. Lots of room and easy access to the fuel lines, baffle, tank straps there. The XP is a lot more crowded and tight. I haven't done the carb cleaning yet, though. Like you, I have a fear of the carburators.

Yeah I had just cleaned up the front to make it look like that. I had wires laying all over the front and had just tied them up all nice. I will probably do the fuel lines as soon as my fuel float shows up, so I can bang it out all at once.

You think thats open? I have a gtx, there is space everywhere, even better with the exhaust out. Don't be scared of the carb(s), its all just nuts and bolts and parts in these need to be all put back where they came from and do not loose anything. It is not hard to rebuild the carbs at all just be carefull taking them apart and put everything back where it came from. Do not touch the adjustment screws or you will have to adjust the carbs once back on.

Cleaned it up...augh....I just gutted my doo and completly painted the inside of the hull snow white....looks nice lets see if I can keep it clean.

no battery cover, just 2 rubber straps. you don't need a vent if you have a sealed battery, just let the vent hose lay there.

This goes to the top of the oil tank. Its a vent. The side going out the side of the ski has a check valve so water doesnt back flow... There should be a elbow fitting into a rubber grommet at the top of the tank, a smaller one that will fit the 6mm hose.

^ That hose is # 18

Replace your fule lines and clean your carb Im 100% sure its ate up. Also that Gas Tank if not new has a recall on it.(Service Bulletin) Just had mine replaced The neck cracks easy.

BEWARE OF THE GREEN GOO!
