I just bought a used 95 seadoo XP yesterday, it started right up when the guy showed it to me, but now today when i start it up it sounds like it is stuck in full throttle, but nothing is stuck... and ideas?
If it's racing RPMs while on the trailer and your throttle is not physically stuck open then your motor is leaning out and not getting fuel, like if you shut the fuel valve off. Does it take off fast if started in the water or does it die. If it dies then it's obviously not getting enough fuel.
Do the RPMs drop if you pull the choke closed? If you had a primer kit you could squirt in some fuel to see if the RPMs dropped as well. All in all, sounds like you have a fuel restriction somewhere or a vacuum/air leak at the intake or case halves.
