It's time for me to introduce this keeper I picked up a couple weeks ago. This may be the first parabolic hull or the first registered at least. It was given to Dupriest Racing in March of 96 so he could begin to develop the new hull for racing. It ran a couple races but was kept indoors for most of it's life. The port work Bo did to the engine and the pump as well as the factory Spec 2 pipe has this thing running amazingly.

I took it straight to a Seadoo get together and put 72 miles on it right off the bat. I decided to keep this over the XPL I had so I felt OK moving my best parts over to it. Here it is as I got it with the original seat and Jettrim cover.

It came with working VTS but that was it since it was a stripped down racer.

I took the liberty of making the ski as nice as it runs. The VTS gauge was there but that's a brand new speedo with the Can-Doo GPS mod wired into it. I spent my brand new fuel gauge here and my mint condition Racepak Hottach 2.

While the seat was off I repaired the fuel baffle. I like the way he used to wrap Sano brand turf around the tops of the footwells like that. I had a 97 X4 the built years ago and it was done this way also.

Originally he had a splash guard on it but it was cut off. I found the Tau Ceti one from the period and installed it.

Within a year after BRP issued this to Dupriest Racing Bo started tuning Seadoo racers full time and called the company Neptune. You can see the ghosting here where the first decals were once on the ski. I had the local sign shop remake and reinstall them as they once were.

Full UMI steering setup with ODI lock on grips, ATM carbon fiber rear hatch, but the seat man is it over the top. It is a lightweight Watoosee style seat that Jettrim made the cushion for. I'm so in love with this thing right now. I hope you guys like it.

That ski is just amazing Matt. Thank you for letting a few of us have the privilege of riding it a few weeks ago! That thing had more bottom end punch than a 951 and possibly more top end but several IPAs clouded my judgement late in the day lol.

That seat is crazy.
It is funny how early it is but looks like a full production 97' XP. Seadoo was sure at the top of their game back then.

Yeah I think that every time I see 96 cast into a 951 part.

Thanks guys for the appreciation.

That thing is freakin amazing Matt! How did the deal come about? Have you been in contact with him in the past or was this a new connection?

That's he is just flat-out amazing and gorgeous. I never really wanted a 97 XP but after reading that thing it really makes me want to try and build one like that. Just a flat-out nice ski in a lot of fun to ride. Thanks again Matt for letting me take a spin on that and the x4 !!!

Thanks guys a lot.

I had Bo's number in my phone but had not talked to him for a couple years other then saying hi at the races. He got on FB and posted the ski for $2K and Adam among others were kind enough to screenshot it and text it to me. I paid his price, drove all the way down the long state of FL and then bought another grand worth of used parts from him.

The engine has Kawi flattop pistons in it. I know it feels amazing but on the next ride I can get a handle on what rpm, temps, and mph #'s I'm working with.

I found an old tray and plastic welded a broken area up. Then I had to cut out another spot so the Factory pipe fittings would clear. There will still be some storage area and a place for the fire extinguisher and such.

I got in my carbon fiber pieces so I'll try to cut the mirror deletes soon. I also got a button style primer to replace the original style model in it now. I'm running out of things to repair or improve.

Ski is looking sweet Matt..can't wait to see it and give it a ride hopefully!..Oh I need you to hook me up with some of those neptune stickers too :)

The stock carbs just re-jetted. The accel pump works and everything. He had big Novi's on it and it ran great on mids and highs but would not idle(not for long anyway). I'm looking forward to noting the engine temps.

Here are my carbon fiber mirror deletes. Some idiot (me) cut the mirrors to where the dull carbon side faced outward on one and the shiny side on the other. So I sprayed them both with spatter paint and then yellow, Oh well.

Looks pretty damn good matt. I want to ride this one! I don't believe I've ever ridden a parabolic hull ski actually

I fit in a ride on a twisty little river yesterday. It was in the mid 70's and the ski ran perfect.

Found another ATM carbon fiber rear hatch lid that I had to have. The clear coat is cracked like they all are but it is the only blonde I've ever seen.
