My first jet boat. 2001 Utopia 185

Just bought my first jet boat. It is a 2001 Utopia 185. Purchased from a used boat dealer who only deals in Sea Doo. It has the merc engine that was totally rebuilt from the crank up in late 2008. All three carbs have been rebuilt. Only 6 hours on motor since rebuild. Also has a brand new interior which matches the factory original. The boat looks great. He is delivering it to within 20 miles of my house for a very reasonable rate. How am I going to wait until spring to use this thing???!!! Some of you may have seen it for sale on eBay. I am at work but will post pics when I get home.

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to water test. The boat is in Ohio and I am in NJ. I spent over a half hour on the phone with the seller and I got a really good feeling from him. I could tell he knew what he was talking about and he is passionate about his Sea Doos. I felt more comfortable knowing he is a boat dealer and he had all the engine work done at a qualified merc shop. He has all the receipts. Not sure if this link will work but here is the boat

Being a Utopia owner I saw this one on Ebay! It sounded good too! Can you tell me if the seats were replaced or recovered? I need to redo my sundeck and need ideas.

From talking with the seller it sounds as if they were recovered not totally replaced. He is in Ohio and I am meeting him next Saturday when he delivers the boat to me and I make payment!!! I can ask him where he got his materials. From talking to him and looking at the pics you can see they did a nice job matching the 'factory' look.
