2001 utopia 185 engine cutting out once it planes

Hi guys I’m an experienced mechanic and my 2001 carbed utopia 185 cuts out almost as soon as it planes out if I give more throttle it revs back up for a sec but continues to bog or cut however it stays running because I slow it back down immediately first time on the water and first time boat owner

Check fuel pump delivery. It is tucked in close to the block. Port side. Follow the hoses.
