If you want a 4-Ted and have great reliability, then get a 2007 and newer to avoid the sodium filled exhaust vales that were in the 2003 to mid 2006 engines. The 155 is a VERY proven engine that can easily get into the thousands of hours with no major work needed. As far as hull configuration goes, if you get a non-supercharged engine, then you are looking at something like the GTX, GTI, GTR and a few others. The GTX is basically the Caddy. The ride is super comfortable and with the 155 engine, you can ride all day long without needing fuel.
If you want speed, then you are into a 215 and larger as they are Super Charged (SC) engines. I own one of each, LOVE them both. But they are two totally different skis and engines. My RXT-X may get 4 hours of use with moderate respect to the throttle. My GTX can run all day..
if you want reliable first and foremost,, the 155 model makes the most sense, boring but solid.
personally I wouldn't own a 155 except as a loaner ski.
I'm not a huge fan of the older rxp's myself, just didn't love the way they rode or handled chop and I have a lot of ocean around me here.
What is "older" in regards to years?
My GTX has the 155. It is my wife's ski which is my spare ski as we can not ride together to often. So I agree with Spim. Very reliable.
My 09 has the T3 hull. I have to admit it can be a rough ride for sure. It is s tough ski as far as jumping and taking abuse, but you do feel the bumps. I ride standing up unless it is smooth cruising.
That made for interesting reading.:thumbsup:Here is a blog on the three hull options.

I've never been on the GTI/GTR hull, but I'd like to compare one vs the others just to see if I notice any difference.
