Hello, I am looking for some help on my 2000 challenger 1800. It has the 210 carb engine. I started acting funning last year it died and would not restart for about 10 minutes and when it did it would die as soon as I got into gear. Then all the sudden ran fine.
Now this year had it out 6 times and then 7th time would not start. brang home and checked have no spark on all cylinders. ran through diagnostics and found outer switch box circuit of stator is open. would this cause it to no start or should it still run on 3 cylinders? also temp sensor with one wire test open circuit as well, this should not cause engine from starting should it? I can say no spark at all

where should I start?
PLEASE EVERYONE RESPOND:cheers:

The temp sensor is supposed to be open when cold.

The bad stator is your issue. I'd say to dig into that. You may find other problems once you get the mag opened up.

Pulled flywheel, everything looks ok, but outer switch box circuit of stator is open circuit. Should I replace the trigger also. Hate to spend alot of money on parts if just barking at wrong tree. Do you know of a good place to buy stator and trigger? would switch box bias cause me to no start? I have manual but does not explain very well about tests. It just tells u what to check, I need explanination of why to check or I second guess my tests.
