Looking for mechanic to service my 2001 challenger 1800 with 240 Eli motor. Idles ok but shuts down after a few minutes of full throttle. Then I wait 1/2 hour to start and idle back to dock

My 240efi did the same thing. but first- is your pee hole at stern peeing? If not, clean out the hose BEFORE YOU RUN ANYMORE! I had a bug block mine. If all is good, my tps started to fail and caused similar symptoms. Stupid expensive part. Many threads here about it.

thanks for the info. i will check the pee hole should water come out of it when i flush with a hose. who do you use to service your boat? thanks joe

The pee stream may not show "on the hose" unless you have a lot of water pressure.

My boat (& trailer) are serviced by............ME! Can't afford anyone else. I have only had to buy 2 special tools so far.....
a flywheel puller and a special socket for the impeller nut.
