Ok guys, here's the new thread for this potential may or June ride in KY or TN

I don't have a problem with the location or time frame but I do want to make sure this gets done right. The "Members Unite!" threads have both been started by me and I've worked hard to make each of those meet up and ride events a success. Many of us are expecting a bigger then ever two-stroke Seadoo gathering next summer and I already have feelers out to key players even though we just got home from the last one. I appreciate the enthusiasm but can't help feeling like my toes are stepped on a little here, right?

Matt, I don't think anyone has taken a leadership role in this meet up. We should have coordination between the host and whomever wants to take the lead role in this trip. If that is you, awesome. If someone else that is fine too. I have a feeling those members who were at the first meet up will have a strong presence in guiding this thread to be a success too.

I agree with splitting this new meet up into its own thread, and don't see it as a way of circumventing you at all.

Just a thought, think we should the 2 stroke jet boat people in on this. (I mean a few cans of fuel and someone to make some wakes would be cool)

Working on saving my pennies for a ski (snow) trip right now, but after I'll be focusing on getting my ski fixed. Guess we'll see what I have left after that...so I'll be passively watching this thread.

Matt, not stepping on any toes.. Is the bigger than ever two stroke gathering next summer something you already have in the works, or did you want to grab the reigns on this one and use it as the platform for that? I only started it bc there seems to be interest in that central location for all, and others had mentioned a new thread to be started. What are your thoughts?

And 1of500, I wouldn't mind some extra wakes from some 2stroke boats.. I know some people may get a little leery once you hit the 40-50 ski and boat numbers as it becomes chaos, and I don't know if it will get quite that big.. But if it does, I have no objections, let's see how others feel

I want to make sure that we nail down some key members. I'm happy to hear Lou's interest but there is also RacerXXX with his skis to reveal and the list goes on and on. Those Carolina boys (Mpower, Suke, etc.) want to get up and do this so I don't want to take off in any direction that excludes them.

As long as we do it in a way that works for the most people who want to come out and be a part of it I'm happy. Thanks for asking.

Yes I would drive a bit further just to make sure Racerxxx and 1of500 were in attendance, as they've helped me the most and are two of the most active and helpful members here.. So anything that'll help them take part, I'm down for

I also was not trying to step on toes either just trying to give some more suggestions for the location, sorry if it came across that way.

If we decide somewhere in TN/KY I can definitely help with planning.

I would really like to be apart of this to, sorry matt didn't mean to come off the wrong way, I think it would be a lot of run, so im down for what ever and here to help how ever I can....just thought ky and tn was right in the middle but like I said im just along for the ride lol

I love everybody's interest and participation. I was just a little shocked to see one of my "Members Unite" threads started by someone else when I hit new posts. Could you imagine me going on GH and starting a thread.."Mudbug 2016" (that's their annual ride) when I have not attended any of their events or talked with any of the players involved? I'm just saying... It seems like the enthusiasm of a few members already have the time and location partially nailed down. We need to hear what would best work for everybody. Maybe start a poll thread or something like that.

A local member near a beautiful destination with enough lodging for us is Key. Krispy did a super job last time. The local knowledge and eyes and ears on the ground were essential. A couple of us might still be making wrong turns out on West Point Lake if it were not for him, lol. Ankeneyou has stepped up already and I'd like to hear more about the lake Lou mentioned. It would be great to hear from others on what location they feel would be ideal. Earlier there was talk of Va or NC, etc. let's not rule that out. Let the possible hosts make their cases.

I would be bringing a wife of sorts, if that's what we agree on, however that puts me in a predicament as to A) getting ANOTHER ski and a double trailer by then or B) fix my spx and get a double trailer by then or C) just bringing the HX and let her chill with any of the females who don't/won't ride, or D) pick up a GTI or the like by then and just take that... Decisions, decisions...

I may sell my 97 GTI in the spring if you decide to go that route...

Ok, I'll watch this thread but I really would like to try and make the drive more manageable for everyone. For starters, I have no idea my schedule that far out, there are many factors in our family life that need to fall into place for this to work out. But here is my suggestion. Lake Norman, NC. If anyone has experience there please chime in. I have used several members locations (listed in their profiles) and it is right around the 8 hour drive mark for a good chunk of us, even Loudoo falls into that 8 hour ride. Now, depending on where on the lake to meet would have more or less of a drive. It would benefit the NC guys, like 1983 , suke , MPower , PGHMAN , LKGrider and a few more. Even 96spxpos is with in an hour of the 8 hour drive. I'm not trying to sway the location but just trying to centralize better. If any of the NC guys know of a better lake step up and let us know but keep in mind I'm thing of the best central location if possible.

We got to have a better opening post for this thread. This has to be really thought out and planned accordingly. The last ride was a great success but we were hoping for an "epic haha" 2 stroke ride this summer with a bunch of the key players that have been the backbone of this forum for many many years.

Keep the 2 strokes alive!

I've never been to Norman personally, but I know Norman gets crazy busy. I've been to Gaston quite a bit and they have restaurants on the water, tons of houses with lifts to rent, and hotels right near the water. The lakes near me I wouldn't go to with a large group. No houses on the water, no restaurants on the water etc.

Gaston is a clean lake with plenty of places to escape to find smooth water to run WOT for days. The area is pretty much all vacation houses and talking to mpower it's a ghost town during the week.

But if we do Norman I'm almost a sure bet I'll be there.

Almost all the NC guys have ridden Gaston on the NC/VA border. Mpower has a place there. Both him and myself would be willing to help organize. I've been up there a ton with him as well, so I'm familiar with the lake too.
