Maint light flashing

It is a 1999 gsx rfi, runs great, but when I turn it off the maint light flashes or If I press the start button without the teather on. I don't want to do damage, but I think it means time for scheduled maint. started flashing at 74 hrs. Any help would be great.

Info center.

Normally, when you get a blinking light, the info center will tell you what it is. If could be low voltage, low fuel, low oil, engine overheating....any number of things.

Press your MODE button and scroll through the list of parameters. See if any of these is red.

If you see nothing, reset the info center by selecting the desired function, then press and hold the set button for 2 seconds.....

THis may not be of any use to you, because your not reporting that you have any kind of code or specific problem. YOu may just have a short.
