loss of power/ battery problem

so here is the story..

I just bought a 2005 speedster 200 with the twin 4tec SCIC engines.

When I got the boat it needed to be trickle charged over night/ jumped in order to start.
The boat would start fine and run with full power until I cut it off.

I bought and installed a new battery today and it worked fine for a few hours. Towards the end of the day (4 hours or so on the water) the boat began to lose power, engine power. I lost all my gauges and the boat would just give 5-10% power at full throttle from both engines. The new battery was completely drained. So I have a few questions.
Did I get the wrong battery? I got a starter/ cranking battery (the same that was in it before) opposed to a deep cycle battery.

Is my stator bad?

Regardless of the battery type I feel like it shouldn’t be drained while the boat is on. The only thing that throws me off is that I never lost engine power for days with the old battery, I’d just have to charge/ jump it and be on my way fine. The new battery is drained and I am now experiencing extreme power loss as the boat won’t go over 5mph.
Interestingly, I threw the old battery back in and I’m still at a power loss.

What could this be ???

Have you checked the fuses in the charge circuit. I think it’s a 30amp fuse. Could also be a rectifier. I’m assuming with two engines, you have two stators so the likely hood of both being bad seems unlikely. The picture below is from my challenger 180 manual but it must be similar as they use the same engine. You can check the output of the rectifier and stator to confirm they are working.
