When in the garage I can press the power button and the display comes on for a few seconds followed by a loud beep and the red battery light is on. The sound will still play for a few seconds longer then it shuts off. The jetski starts and runs fine otherwise. Could this be a battery problem even if the battery charges fast and it will still start and run.

Batteries are fickle to say the least, the ECM is all about the right voltage and the starter is more about having enuf amperage. Take your battery out of the ski and have it load tested at a battery store especially if it’s more than a couple years old. If the battery checks out okay I would start checking for an under or over voltage when you get the red battery light at the battery possible regulator/rectifier issue.
