Loss of Jet thrust

My 97 GTX has 94 hours on a new engine and impeller. It was running fine one day when I stopped in 3 foot of water (rock bottom) . I took off after a 30 minute stop and I suddenly had very little jet "thrust". Does a wear ring fail this suddenly? I found nothing in the jet, trash etc. The engine runs fine the best discription would be "cavitation" like performance I suppose.

Any suggestions? Anyone? Thanks.

Did a new wear ring get installed when you replaced the impeller?

Also possible the drive shaft is having a problem of some type. Maybe a broken PTO coupler?

JPX finally took the pump off and the wear ring was in pieces. Guess it caught some rock or something? There was almost nothing left of it.
