Looking to install Lowrance HDS-7M Gen 2 On 2008 Speedster 150

Hey guys, first post here I think! I picked up a 2008 Speedster 150 a couple weeks ago and love it, took it out for the first time yesterday. Now to mod it :facepalm::lol:

Looking to install a Lowrance HDS-7M Gen 2 Touch if possible in the Speedster - a chartplotter/GPS. http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Chartplotter/HDS7m-Gen2-Touch-en-us.aspx I would do the 5" if necessary but would like to do the 7". Has anyone installed one of these in the boat before? Im looking for installation pictures of where it could me mounted etc. Also wondering if the dash area is strong enough to drill through if I put the mount there? Any other tips/tricks?

On the same thought, Im installing a Standard Horizon GX1700 VHF Radio, any ideas for mounting for that? Antenna location as well I guess.

I too have been struggling with plotter location and radio. There is simply not enough room by pilot's seat. On mine Challenger, it's worse with the windscreen. I suggest go through the modified forum and look for similar mods. With yours you can mount on top of the console. It trashes the lines there.
