Hi everyone.
I am running into some problems with a couple of BOSCH ME17.8.5 ECU's I have, and I am hoping that the brains trust here might be able to help solve them. I have reached out to Oleg from DIUS, but am yet to hear back from him.
I have three ECU's here. They are all Bosch ME 17.8.5 ECU's from BRP Seadoo's. Over time, I have used the DIUS4.0 application to reprogram these ECU's from their various states back to factory firmware, however two of them seem to have not worked properly
ECU #1: Working perfectly fine. No issues at all.
ECU #2: The ski will start and run, but clearly not running on all cylinders.
ECU #3: Has a problem where it tries to start the Seadoo the moment you press the start button. Instead of just “waking” the ski up, it goes directly to trying to start it immediately, and the starter seems to stay engaged.
I have the following tools available. BUDS (Not BUDS2), DIUS4.0, A bench hardness i made. I have also recently purchased HP Tuners, but am yet to get into that
I have compared the settings of each ECU in BUDS (ECU Coding etc), and from what I can see within BUDS they are the same across all three ECU's. I was going to try using BUDS to save the configuration from the working ECU, and copy it over to the two, but I thought I would see what the forum thought before doing that.
I have noted down all the data from DIUS4.0 for each ECU. DOnt pay much attention to the HIN. Ive changed them a little depending an what ski I've tried the ECU in, and have attached it to this post.
So, my question is, what can I do to successfully restore the two ECU's with issues, back to factory (in this case both back to 2010 RXT IS)?.
If it helps, Im actually keen to get into the weeds on these ECU's. Not because i want to make any money out of it, but because I'm just a keen DIYer (i like to be very self sufficient where i can). So, Im not opposed to opening them up, reprogramming or tinkering with eeproms etc. But id be extremely grateful if someone could guide me, or help get me started. I'm not looking for freebies, and am hapy to pay for peoples time. If i need to buy some additional hardware / software to get things going here, Im happy to consider that.
Thankyou very much
Dave
