Looking for help from the experts? Newbie needs info on '94 XP

Hi everyone! Glad to be on board. I'm looking for the "experts" help. I'm looking to buy a Jet Ski for the first time. I've ridden on my brother in laws many times but now want my own. After searching around, I found a guy who has offered me a 1994 Seadoo XP with an X-4 Hull and he said compression is 150 even in each cylinder. It comes with a Yacht club trailer and he wants $1100 for the seadoo and trailer.

Is this a good deal? What is an X-4 Hull? Is 150 compression in each cylinder good?

Secondly, if this is a fair deal, what should I be looking for when I inspect it? Good fuel lines?

I'm new, so be easy! Hopefully I can learn from all of you. :hurray:

You can inspect things like if the fuel lines have been changed. Check for impeller and grate damage. Ask if the engines been rebuilt, and by who. What type of oil has been run in it. 150 is good, but DONT TAKE ANYONES WORD. GET YOUR OWN GAUGE and test it yourself. People are liars..

Inspect the hull and that all options on the machine are working.

If he's telling you, that it has an X-4 hull, but its a 1994, then i would double check the compression or take it to the local watering pond, for a testdrive. That model did not come out until the late 1995xp-800

Yeah he offered to do a test drive and to do the compression test with me there.
