Man do I love these forums - best source of knowledge!!!

vilord - that was it, the N rev limiter - not that I red lined it, but they both go past 3500 - good news - now I want to take her to the water as is, just bolting the back rest and setting the bottom seat in and let her rip. Have plans all this weekend, but I feel a bit of a cold coming on - cough cough - I may just have to call in sick on Monday - cough cough - yeah, that is the ticket - LOL

timmyboy76 - does the paint stick well? I thought it was tough to get anything to stick to galv metal?

Few Updates

So, where should I start.
I have done a ton of work and wanted to share.
I have over 140lbs for each cylinder and am happy about that.
I have replaced the bilge blower, both left and right throttle cables, new scupper valve, secured the bilge pump, fixed the bilge pump switch, replaced one broken nozzle, repaired some digs in the gel coat with MarineTex, waxed the hull, JB welded the exhaust pipe leaks, cleaned out the oil in the pipes and muffs, replaced the axle on the trailer, new tires, fixed the lights on the trailer, replaced the yellow parts on the seats, installed a waterproof stereo housing, cleaned the carbs, and I'm sure I am forgetting some things.
Here are a few pics - not bad since this was my first time:
Yes, the boat is a little dirty - sits outside under winter tarp :(

Another update

I cleaned the cover with acetone and a rag and it took off the top layer of faded yellow - not sure of the long term side affects, but it looks good:

Acetone...huh, neva thought of that. I would get a rattle can of "jade", matched perfect with the teal seats, and sprayed it, also spray the steering wheel cover.
Boat looks awesome, man...great job

I used lacquer thinner on my XP yellow doohicky on the steering column. Did the same thing, sorta melted off the top layer taking most of the white flaky stuff off with it.

Just not as strong as the acetone.

Yeah - I need to do the center steering wheel cover too - I attempted to find yellow plastic paint, no luck. Did you use regular spray paint?
