Leftover crankshaft

I just rebuilt a 96 GTI this past summer and instead of getting a reman crank I ordered a new wsm crank. The only thing wrong with the original crank was that the middle seals were bad and the center gear has some broken teeth. What I'm wondering is the any way to recoup some money by selling this crank to a reputable company/person or is it just better to trash.

Only place that might take it as a core is SBT.

I throw all my used cranks in the trash. The shops don't even want them.
