Updated... At a loss now! Need some help!!! Please!

If the post is not working and needs to be replaced, would that cause the digital displays not to work at all? If I need to replace the post, does that mean that I have to have my keys reprogrammed or is that part of what the MPEM does?

Thanks,
Kevin

yeah the DESS post once connected is supposed to make the digital display light up if your saying you need to replace it then yeah that could very well be the problem..And no you do not need to reprogram, the lanyard is programed to the mpem. just replace the post and you will be good to go.

Checking voltage. At the starter relay solenoid I'm getting 12.5 volts. When I check the fuses I'm only getting 2.5 - 3 volts. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help guys! I've been on vacation since Sunday. However, I did find the problem. The 15 amp fuse in the electrical box was heavily corroded. It had 12v in and 3.5 volts going out. I cleaned the terminals and replaced the fuse. Now I have 12v's running to the MPEM and can get response from the lanyard now. Unfortunately, I have run into another problem. It appears that the starter has gone bad and I will need to rebuild it. If it's not one thing, its the next! I have yet to ride this ski for longer than 30 minutes since the moment I bought it! By the time I get this thing back up and running everything will have been replaced except for the engine! I guess I will have to remove the exhaust again as a few weeks ago I had to remove the fuel lines and the carbs for cleaning. :banghead:

Sorry for the long post, trying to give as much information as possible.

Well, I pulled the starter and rebuilt it. Connected it back to the engine for a test and I still get the same response. The starter solenoid just clicks real fast. Here is the history of repair so far...

Replaced fuel lines and pulled carbs for cleaning including the fuel filter (badly needed it). I did this because the ski would run for 20 minutes and stall out. Put everything back together went to start the ski and it would not start, the solenoid just clicked. Replace the solenoid and the same thing happened. I then bridged the power cables to jump start the starter so to speak. That worked. It ran great for 40 minutes and it was sun down. 4 days after the run I went to have an Fast Lanyard programmed for it as I was missing mine. I just had a learners Lanyard. Got to the dealer and the ski had absolutely no power. I got power very briefly, long enough to have the lanyard programmed. However, it still would not start.
I brought it back home and chased the voltage around. I found that the 15amp fuse in the electrical box was extremely corroded and I was losing power going through the fuse. Replaced the fuse and cleaned the pigtail and terminals of the corrosion. Put everything back together and I now have power to the lanyard. I tried to start it and all I get now is the clicking noise form the Solenoid. So, I replaced it with a known working one and still get the clicking. I also rebuilt the starter at this point just thinking that this might be the issue as I earlier had to bridge it to get it to start.

At this point I have no idea what to look for. I don't understand why the solenoid just clicks. Even after rebuilding the starter, I can't get it start even from trying to bridge the power cables together. I've had this thing for 2 months and have drove it for 40 minutes! Please help!!!!

Load test the Starter. Most auto parts stores do that for free. Do the battery to,
but charge it up first! Bills86e

Do I have to remove the flywheel to get to the stator or is it before the flywheel. Also, which part in the diagram is the stator as the parts are not listed. I think the one that is the stator does not have a number associated with it.
Would a bad stator cause the starter solenoid to just click?
