Just ordered a l.e.d drain plug last week and and just installed it...looks great and is really bright..I went with the blue one....does any one else know any other easy install ideas?

Just go on ebay and go under the search and put in.... Seadoo l.e.d drain plug.....any 1/2 inch will work..

I looked around ebay... and the one's in your picture (other thread) Are crazy expensive. $100 to $260 for ONE !!!!!

The only one that is reasonable is plastic. (but a little cheesy)

I guess I'll have to make some from my shop.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass here. But what's the purpose of a LED drain plug? My thought would be to find it in the dark, wouldn't a $2.00 flashlight do the same thing? I guess it's kinda like back in the 90's when guys were putting LED's under their cars.

When you are anchored... you can light up the water. Just like the cars in the 90's. But... these are crazy expensive... and really not the right thing.

For the $500 (for the pair of plugs) I can get a BUNCH of underwater lights, and pay for a tank of fuel.

I'm not bashing. I think they look cool at night... but to me... the "Cool" doesn't measure to the price tag.

Mine is plastic just like a basic drain plug..got it off eBay for $52.00 with free shipping...looks nice in the water...it's bright and lights up about 12 to 15 feet half radius behind my boat....the water were I live is crystal clear and the sand is bright and white like sugar so take that in mind......we go out at night all the time and there are alot of boats out at night here...so with me and my 2 little girls swimming I want to be seen by others......plus I only need one so I only spent $52.00 and spliced it in with my anchor light which I think is no way enough light...

i am thinking of buying the same. it looks very cool at night. a friend has underwater lights on his 28' glastron cabin cruiser.

Yea I like it....I recently changed the deck lights to blue LED lights also....very cheap to do plus they use less power..also where the engine vents for air I gonna install one there... Do I twill look like it's glowing inside ..,trying to see how to up load pictures from my phone to here..

I just purchased one on ebay for $40. i wonder what the difference is between a $40 light (3 LEDs item #171087509829) and a $400 (!!) light.

Probably just a knock off... Mine was but its bright enough...looks kool as you drive.... The wake behind you lights up blue

Just FYI - running with the underwater lights on is illegal. You can't run anything other than the red/green nav lights on the front and the all around white at the stern while under way. Check your regs, would hate to see you get stopped by an over zealous WP or CG. Having them on while anchored or adrift is fine as long as your white stern light is also illuminated.

hm. good point on the legality of the underwater lights. i was planning on splicing it into the running light circuit but maybe it needs its own separate switch. on the other hand, there is no CG or any sort of water police on Sakakawea. Its sort of the wild west.
