Hi All

I am new to this forum aswell as this is my first Jet Ski and must say I have allready found so much useful info here!!

I need to find out from all you die hard Jet SKi's what is the best way to keep water from comming into the Hull?

I have noticed that when the Ski sits still in the water that the Bolts where the Pump connects to the body leak as well as the by the "wings" on the side of the ski?

Is there like a silicone? or something that I can apply to keep the water out that will be strong enough to take the high speeds of the ski??

All experiance advice would be very much appreciated!

The "wings" are called sponsons and are known to come a little loose and leak water. What I would do for those is take them off make sure they are still in good/useable condition.

Put them back out, and the manual says you should use Locktite thread locker on the screws and some Sealant 732 (http://www.dowcorning.com/applications/search/default.aspx?R=2142EN) around the bolts/bolt holes.

Im sure you could use some sort of comparable silicone stuff but thats the stuff they used when they built my ski. Im sure it be the same for your year. If you want you could even buy some after market sponsons if your into that sort of thing, they can add stability to your ride. Sounds like a low risk and fun first doo project.

Thanks guys!

Yes replaceing the sponsons with a little bigger ones could be a GREAT idea as I am a little heavy and all the extra stability would really help!!!

Also on the Hull pumps I have thought about this solution but because I use this Ski for fishng and stand still for long periods of time I am scared that I will flatten the battery while I drain the water?

Once again thanks for the input!

I have found something called Marine Silicone which should help arround the bolts? .............. Hope So????

I hear Beach House makes some good sponsons, id like on eBay for some discounts.

And yea im sure that Marine Silicone would be fine.
