Keep the Speedster or trade in for PWC?

Got into a debate with my wife and trying to figure out what to do with our current boat.. We have a 2010 Seadoo Speedster 155 that we have owned since new.. This thing barely has any real hours on it.. I think we only have 15-20 hours on it mostly because we cruise for a while then anchor and swim.. The first two summers we were out every day but then my schedule changed which leaves me off during the week while she is working.. We also recently had our first child and he is too young to be out on the boat.. Especially being a little Speedster.. My wife commented that if we had a bigger boat that didn't constantly have waves crashing over the front or was so easily thrown about she would consider taking him out.. However the current budget doesn't allow for the boat that I want and again with the schedules not meshing it would be a waste to spend all that money on something that we wouldn't be able to take out as often.. ANYWAY.. This brings me to my main question.. If you guys were in my shoes, would you keep the Speedster or trade in and get a PWC?? Again, being that the wife/kid won't be going out I will be running solo on the days I decide to go out.. This has made me consider trading in for a pwc.. From what I have been told I should be able to get 10-12k for the Speedster.. However I also considered just keeping the speedster for the added storage and room to walk around.. Being that I would be out alone I don't see myself anchoring to swim around... I would see myself more just out cruising/wave jumping.. Input?

Well, I bought my Speedster new in 99. We had kids, we didn't use it all that much but we still took them out when they were probably 1 yo. Kids are like rubber, they flex with the wakes. Plus the boat is the ultimate nap machine, 10 minutes in and the 2 stroke sung our kids to sleep. It still works for my daughter at 8 years old. I also got back into the PWC scene because my son asked about them. I did not sell the boat, I still have it and will probably always have it. My dad always told me "If it's bought and paid for it can sit and it ain't eating anything", meaning once it's paid for it's merely an object that cost you no money when you're not using it......but when you want to use it it's always there to be used. He says that a lot, I think he has hoarding tendencies so this might not work for everyone. But, I tend to hold on to my items I really like and will just "add" to my collection. So, to make the long story short..........Keep the boat and get a ski, LOL. Oh, and if you sell it now, you'll never have the money later for another one once you kids start bleeding you dry. They're like a wallet vacuum.

RacerXXX - Thanks for the reply.. I get what you are saying.. The only thing the boat costs me is for insurance which is not much.. However I don't think my wife would want me to "add on" lol.. I think my choice is to get one OR the other lol... I have no doubt that if I sold it I would be able to replace down the road.. The only reason I am not getting the bigger boat now is due to me recently splurging on my new truck and our move to a new house that needed to be completely furnished.. Otherwise I would be getting the Chaparrel Vortex 223 VRX.. However at this point I can't justify the 60k pricetag being our current situation.. However I just remembered that my wife has been wanting me to get rid of my motorcycle.. I have also been contemplating selling it as my local area is not very motorcycle friendly.. I suppose I could propose a swap.. Sell the motorcycle (to make her happy of course) and get a pwc in its place..
