Just want it to go!

I've got a recently acquired 2006 Challenger 180CS. It had a nicked up stock impeller so I've just put a new Solas 13/18 and wear ring in it (live at 6000 ft, thought it would be better than a 14/19) but with 3 people in the boat and 3 kids on a towable, it just won't go, it cavitates terribly. I can't even ease into it and get it to go. At half throttle it revs to 8k but never loads up. Any ideas?

You have an air leak. Most likely... it's around the carbon seal.
