Hey guys I just purchased a boat and I have a few questions. First I wanted to know if I paid a fair price. I paid $6500. The boat looks great all around it had a radio and speakers with a sub installed as well as a 12 disc changer and XM with a year subscription. Also a hand held GPS. Boat came with the trailer bimini top and boat cover. The boat’s engines both were fairly clean and turned over right away. I took the boat out on Saturday and ran strong with 4 people it was riding at 45mph but I hit a wave a bit hard and got some water in the boat a good 12 inches. I turned the pump on and the water was out in a few minutes. But both engines shut off I looked in the engine bay and there was no water at all every time I tried to restart the engines it would beep once and it seems to have no juice. I flipped to another battery and it was the same thing. I waited for a good 20 min and got one engine to run so I ran on one engine to a sand bar. Once I left the sand bar one engine started and the other just stalled wanted to start but seemed like it was getting no gas. I pumped the throttle a few times and it fired up and both engines ran like champs. Now what could be the reason for this problem? Also I know I need the cover for the air filters but I know I got no water in there. Also I attached some pics of the boat. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like the dess lanyard or cap is dirty. Use soap and water to clean the dess and cap. Do not put anything on it or the cap. 1 beep indicates that the lanyard isn't communicationg to the MPEM,( Multi Purpose Electronic Cobntrol Module). Keep us posted on you progress.

Hey thanks for the fast responce man. It does beep twice when I put the key on but it beeped once when I pressed the start button. but I will still clean the cap and the key.

Hello, i find that once my motors heat up, if they stop it is harder to start than when cold. I have read in the manual to have gas at about 1/3 throttle to start when warm, this may help. When i have had trouble starting, i have first thought it was flooded, only to find it was a lack of gas that stopped them from starting.
Very nice boat, how does that sub sound? is it strong?
Tripple batteries:rofl: Some one was worried about starting!!!!
Get those air boxes on quick smart. I think i saw some on eBay or at seadoosource.com

I'll give it a shot this weekend when I take it out again. the subs is actually a real nice set up. I hate to say it but it sounds just as good as the system I put in my truck and in my car. the batteries I'll keep the way they are (one is right under the blower but it seems to work fine) I keeped them charged and was able to keep the radio playing for about 4 hours while we were on the sandbar and had plently of power to crank up with the exception of the one engines giving me a lil trouble. I just read a bunch of posts and some people have nightmare on their hands but these boats are so much fun they are worth a bit of a hassle.

Yah i been a bit concerned looks like alot of working on these jet boats kinda scares me im not looking for a part time boat fix job

Once you get the maintenance up to par they are problem free for the most part.

Yep, i couldn't be without mine now, took 6 month's to catch up on the work that had been neglected but now all i do is start it and have a blast. Everyone comment's on how much fun it looks when i pull up to the jetty, so i just can't help myself i take them for a spin and scare the hell out of them with a full speed 360, i have jumped some large waves and it lands softly on the other side(most of the time). I use it for wakebaording, skiing, biscuts, fishing, racing, wave jumping, cruising and just laying in the sun. It is a great allrounder and i wouldn't swap it for anything else, have been offered 10g's more than i paid for it but i won't sell because i it is my own and i have done what i need to make it reliable.

Well I hope I get to the point where my boat will have zero problems but if I do have a few issues, I want to know how to fix everything my self, and do all the boats service. that is the key to having a good boating experience (or so I think)
