I've got instructions of a build similar to this, though its made out of pvc tubing and attached/detaches within minutes. holds the cooler and a couple fishing rods. sits on the back of the ski... just getting around to build it yet. Can send the instructions if anyone is interested.

I'm planning on doing that this spring for a cooler. I'd be interested in the instructions if you still have them. That would be a little easier than doing it from nothing.

I'll take a set of the instructions too if you don't mind. I don't fish on the ski, but we take the ski to some pretty awesome inlets and beaches and fish with the ski anchored near by.... Places boats can't really get to... Very peaceful and successful.

No worries guys I'll have to send it via email though due to the size of the file if yas want to pm me a email address. It gives step by step instructions with pictures as well. A mate made one for his ski and with a few altercations he was able to bring the cost down a little bit. I believe the file is about 2 megabytes by memory. Sorry for the late reply as well as work duties has us running like headless chickens :).

PersianPete I don't think I've gotten a email address from you though. If you're still interested let me know and provide a email address.

I would like it also shucky please

No worries OneT. pm me your email address as the forum will not let me send a PDF file. I will send it this evening as I don't have time for it at this moment.
cheers

LMAO!!!! yeah it would suck to hit a big wave on that thing. I would only like the cooler holder part if it had quick disconnects on it so you could pop it off.

Does anyone here fish off there ski?

Rampage I sometimes fish off my ski, I also have the cooler setup as well fishing rig.jpg with the build instructions which I can email if anyone wants.

G'day guys ... Just to let yas know I have received your requests for the setup instructions, I have recently moved house and have to wait for my home internet to be reconnected about the 25th of this month.. Due to having to install new equipment from the ISP, will sent the instructions on to yas then. Sorry for the late reply.
Cheers.

Well, I built a rig like the link I posted and learned a few things. I'll get some pics on later.

It's a little heavy with all those fittings and too long front to back for my 97 GTI. Half of it hangs off the rear of the ski. The trolling holders which I did not install permanent hit the back of the jet ski below the seat. It holds the cooler fine but my ski has no D-rings on the transom for the tie-downs so I had to bungee the rig to the top of the reverse\steering housing so I was afraid to put much tension on it. This made it a little loose so I had to constantly check on it while crossing the bay and after every hole shot. One idea is to get a boarding step to strap it to. I had to move the rods to the two holes next to the rear seat to reduce the amount of spray blasting them but they still got pretty soaked. I forgot my anchor so I did a lot of drift fishing along the protected side of the island and beached the front in some weeds a few times in some inlets. I caught a few flounder but had no luck with the specks I was hoping for. Straddling the seat for long periods was annoying and the yellow flies were unbelievable! I think I may have a couple hundred bites on my ankles.

I also bought a handheld depth\fish finder. I tried using the 'through hull' method in the directions but got no readings. I couldn't find a good way to temporarily mount it so I gave up on it for now.

You need to check out this system, seriously easy to install and economical, no holes drilled and just move to another Jet Ski: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tACv9WNERYc&list=PLkTk-SuREwQzoFtrbuJyFQXAe7ctnZT4j&index=26

The was just an incident in South Africa where the Jet Ski fisherman fell of his machine and was not able to get back on because of the cooler set up on the back, a passer by came to his rescue and the coast guard responded, try to get insurance with one of those baskets on the back, I couldn't do it, I was told it was a liability the insurance company would not cover.
