Jet Pump Seal installation

Hi all,
I'm reassembling my jet pump, and after pressing in the bearings I am trying to install the impeller-side seal. Question is, which way does it go?
Manual states: "Seal must be installed so that lips raised edges are toward outside of housing (toward impeller)."
Problem is, it appears to me that both sides of the seal have raised edges...one side does have a spring around the raised edge, so my question is, does the spring side go towards the bearing or the impeller?

That is a double lip seal that goes in with the spring toward the bearing. This is what keeps the synthetic oil from seeping out of the seal.
