I was told if you leave a jet boat in salt water for longer than a week barnacle could get into the jet pumps and you will have to clean the jet pumps for them to work properly. Is this true?
I have a 2001 Sea Doo Challenger 14.

Anytime anything sits and does not get used on salt water you stand the risk of growth. Barnacles like rough surfaces. Jet skis and boats are normally pretty smooth and don't have a ton of metal hanging on the bottom. Just take a scrub brush with you and scrub the bottom each time if you are going to leave it n the water for an extended amount of time. The BIGGER risk is the boat sinking due to the design of the carbon seal. Seadoo does not recommend storing the boat in water.
