Got it Timmy thanks it went out yesterday and he also PM me and told me 1 day turn around...woo might get to ride Fathers day weekend if starter is ok hehe...i hope this is all thats wrong with it...starter spins Very strong but wont kick bendix out..gonna try to clean shaft and bendix today even tho i can spin it out with my hand Very easily ....but i talked with a tech at the local dealership and he said there was something that made the bendix kick out other then the starters own force...heck if i know lol...gonna put it back on when i get MPEM fixed then see if it will start....thanks for all the help guys

Spring...

The only other thing that assists the bendix to throw out the gear to the flywheel is the spring. If your starter is spinning over but not engaging the flywheel, it can be a weak battery, a weak starter, or a dirty bendix. If you can spin the bendix out with your hand and it goes in and out smoothly, chances are, a low battery..my first guess. Starter, second guess.

Thanks SeadooSnipe. I can very easily with 2 fingers turn and pull at same time and get bendix to come out Smoothly...looked at it and it looks dry and clean....tried 2 batteries off charge and get strong spin ( starter will actually Jump when 1st engaged )...but if its clean and spins strong but still does not engage. it would seem just better to replace it and not have to worry about probs on the water with it. Gonna try a bit of Grease on shaft and see if maybe a cleaning will help...will let ya know if works...got another spare battery also and gonna try it after cleaning...thanks again guys
