Is this Emgo 5/16" fuel line off amazon ok to use?

Going on NAPA's website they want like $3 a foot for fuel line. I figure I need about 15' of 5/16" and 6 feet of 1/4". Is this stuff alright to use?

I just go to the local auto parts store and buy gates fuel line for $1 per foot.

yip, I just stop by autozone/advanced and buy it by the foot for about $1 and its done.

What about stainless clamps? Amazon or did u buy those local? And can I use TGIF same size clamp for both the 1/4" and 5/16" ?

I would assume 1/4" and 5/16" are in the same clamp's "size range", but I never got the outside diameter of the fuel lines. I was at where you are now in the decision-making process, and instead of stainless steel clamps, I decided to go with zip-ties. I bought black zip-ties from Lowes and a cheap, $10.00 zip-tie gun from Walmart, but haven't actually done the work. Tested a piece of fuel line and zip-tied it to a nipple on the carb and it was TIGHT, but have no on-water experience with whether or not it's a good alternative to stainless steel hose clamps.

MUCH CHEAPER.

When I planned on using stainless steel hose clamps, I was going to buy them from eBay. Never got a quantity of how many to purchase, either.

Someone showed a picture on how zip ties don't get right enough and create a gap where air could get in. And can you fit the zip tie gun everywhere inside the hull?

I read a post from a pro that said he prefers zip-tie guns because he can get it everywhere inside the Seadoo. Implied in his post is that some of the hose clamps are hard to do in certain places inside the hull.

I also read about the air gap thing, but as I recall it was a "concern" by one person that was not "validated" by anyone, meaning no one had actually experienced the problem that the one person was worried about, so I decided to ignore it. Others have used zip-ties with no issue. I haven't read a single post by someone that used zip-ties that said they had problems, and not a single post from anyone that said DON'T DO IT. So I decided to do it.

I have been using the zip ties and "the gun" for over 20 years now without a single problem. In theory they could cause an air bap but I have never once experienced this even on the thin crappy blue hose.
I use standard black automotive fuel hose and the Thomas & Betts zip ties with the stainless locking tab. I buy in bulk from McMaster Carr.


The key is using the correct size ziptie.
For all fuel lines I use the....
Fine Adjustment Nylon Cable Tie, 5-1/2" Long, 1-1/8" Bundle Diameter, 30 lb. Break Strength, UV Black

For the oil injection and accelerator pump lines I use...
Fine Adjustment Nylon Cable Tie, 3-1/2" Long, 5/8" Bundle Diameter, 10 lb. Break Strength, UV Black

In another thread someone said to use the Thomas and Betts stainless insert zip ties that are 7" long with 50lb tensile strength. Just about to pull the trigger on them from amazon $10 for pack of 100

I can only tell you what I have been using for 20 years. It ones I listed work perfectly.

If you go too big on the ziptie the locking head also gets bigger and can increase the chance of the pinch point that sporster is concerned about.

Those look like what i get just in natural color. I get mine from McMaster Carr.
The good guns are about $250 new so I have been trolling ebay. I got one for $35 and one for $20 but it took about a year. I know someone said they got a cheap one at WalMart.

The GTX is pretty long, I would go with 20' of the 5/16".

Keep trolling ebay for the gun. They work great on many projects.
